Water To Milk
New Zealand
Water To Milk is an Internet of Things (IoT) and mobile app based water management system for dairy farms. It allow dairy farms to build a full picture of how water is used across the farm, from water take to cattle troughs, irrigation to effluent ponds. It features locally made IoT technology built to last on New Zealand dairy farms, connected with common-sense software. They combine to deliver practical insights that get maximum value out of farmer's precious water resource while meeting their environmental goals as steward of their land. The main app elements include 1) delivering a holistic view of the water volume on a farm, with a network of sensors reporting a farm’s water take, dam level and tank level, along with forecast and actual rainfall 2) Irrigation Management helps farmers take control of their irrigation with remote oversight of their entire system 3) remote monitoring to the dairy shed and across the farm. It's solar powered sensors remotely monitor soil moisture, rainfall, and nitrates in their waterways so farmers can lower the risk of nutrient drainage and discover the impact of their efforts to maintain waterway quality.
