Digitally Enabled Seed Information System (DESIS)

Launched in 2021, DESIS is a system that combines a seed catalogue and seed balance sheet. It allows users to view seed characteristics, compare different seed varieties and select from released and registered varieties available in Nepal. The platform also helps aggregate and manage breeder, foundation, source seed, certified and labelled seeds. It consolidates seed demand and supply data in real time, providing users with up-to-date information on released and registered seed varieties in Nepal. DESIS facilitates an efficient seed system, enabling the Nepalese government, seed companies, private sector actors and farmers to access information and services easily.
