Fish Bangla is a unique mobile app designed to buy and sell fish online. Users, including farmers, can access the app to trade fish in retail and wholesale markets. The fish are freshly caught and shipped directly from handpicked farmers to the markets. The app provides fish suppliers, such as smallholder fish farmers and fishermen, with information on best practices for fish cultivation and prohibits using formaldehyde or other contaminants. Customers, including restaurants and households in Dhaka, can order fish through the website, app or call centre. Fish Bangla employs drivers with vans to transport the fish. Some of the app’s exclusive features include the ability for buyers and sellers to create their profiles with detailed information, access to product lists for buying and selling, a directory of sellers, a history of transactions and contact details.
