Agvisely
Bangladesh
Agvisely assists extension agents and farmers in Bangladesh and South Asia in enhancing agricultural resilience to climate risks. The system integrates location-specific meteorological forecasts from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) with thresholds for critical weather variables. When a threshold is predicted to be exceeded, an automated system provides tailored management advice for farmers based on these forecasts. The advisories are grounded in recommendations from the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council and are verified by the Department of Agricultural Extension. Feedback from extension agents helps improve future advice. The primary tool is a website that 6 000 extension agents can access using tablets.
