GREENCoffee solution
Viet Nam
Launched in 2016, the GREENCoffee solution provides farmers with timely and accurate market information, tailored crop calendars and guidance on good agricultural practices through SMS and dedicated mobile apps that utilize satellite and other geo-information sources. The system is financially supported by subscription fees from farmers and B2B service models for different participants in the coffee value chain, such as roasters and traders. GREENCoffee supports 100 000 coffee farmers in the Central Highlands of Viet Nam (including Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Kon Tum and Lam Dong provinces) by delivering targeted information on weather conditions, best practices and market data. The project is funded by the G4AW (Geodata for Agriculture and Water) facility of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
