Langit Collective
Malaysia
Langit Collective is an accredited social enterprise in Malaysia that was formed in 2015. They started with the promotion of unique and heirloom agricultural produce by smallholder farmers from East Malaysia to larger markets. Through this, farmers enjoy a fair price with each procurement, whilst increased economic opportunities encourage them to preserve their culture, sustainable farming practices, and heritage seeds. Langit also design and implement customised learning experiences for entrepreneurial communities or organisations who work on livelihood programs. This contributes to empowering of communities through new skills and knowledge. Langit works across 3 different rural farming communities in Sabah and Sarawak. Each community produce unique crop that thrives on their land. These communities include Heirloom Rice & Grains Farmers; Layo Farmers (naturally farmed ginger); Lada Bihis (farmer's niche, lada kuching variety).
