Drones4Rice
Philippines
Developed jointly by International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice), the Drones4Rice is a drones based digital initiative to support rice farming in the Philippines by boosting rice yields and lower production costs. It standardizes protocols and streamline regulations for drone applications of seeds, fertilizers and pesticides for rice production in the Philippines which will enable the private sector to scale affordable drone services to farmers. By using drones in rice planting, it also helps in gender inclusivity as women get into rice farming by using drones for fertilizer application and seeding rice.
