Smart Commune Model
Viet Nam
The Smart Communie Model is a digital initiative being implemented by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) in coordinated with local digital enterprises in 7 poor communes (Bắc Kạn, Bình Định, Hà Giang, Lai Châu, Quảng Trị, Thái Bình và Tuyên Quang). It bridges the digital gap between urban and rural areas, promoting IT applications and digital transformation in commune authorities to better serve and interact with the people. It also provides digital skills by expanding opportunities to access digital technology which helps people introduce and advertise products and cultural features of the communes in a digital environment. The 6 components in the smart commune model are 1) Smart commune authority; 2) Communication with the people; 3) E-commerce (e-commerce); 4) Tourism; 5) Social services and 6) Promotion and Branding
